Is there a free trial?

Yes. It starts with a 30-day free trial with every feature included. After that it's $49 a month per connected platform, and you can cancel from your Shopify admin whenever you want.

Do I need a developer?

No. Composerie installs like any Shopify app and works with your existing theme. If you can add a product in Shopify, you can set this up. One limit worth knowing: it runs on Shopify only, for now.
